Gymnastic mattress - what to pay attention to when buying?
Buying gymnastic mattress we should pay attention to several important elements that have a significant impact on the comfort of its use. These include:
- material of the mattress
- type of filler used in the mattress
- firmness of the mattress
- mattress size
- mattress thickness
Gymnastic mattress made of skai or plawil?
It will definitely be cheaper to purchase a mattress made of synthetic leather. Good quality synthetic leather will completely withstand the training loads of daily training at home. It is important to remember not to exercise on synthetic leather mattresses with shoes because you can damage it this way. If you are buying a gymnastic mattress for use in public places (schools, gyms, etc.).) then we should invest in a mattress made of plawil. Plawil is a material that is resistant to abrasion and cracking, so it provides greater durability.
What should a gymnastics mattress be filled with?
Gymnastic mattress filling is one of the most important features to look out for. Mattresses should not be filled with ordinary upholstery foam as cheap market mattresses manage to do. Use re-foamed polyurethane foam to fill the mattress. The foam should be of good quality because only then it will provide us with the maintenance of its properties regardless of the training loads to which the mattress will be subjected. Good quality foam is resistant to nailing and deformation.
Firmness of the gymnastics mattress
Firmness of the gymnastics mattress should be adapted to the exercises that we will want to perform on it. For daily gymnastics and children's exercise, soft mattresses are recommended for comfort and safe training. For combat sports or other sports that require ground stability, hard mattresses are recommended. We offer mattresses of different firmnesses:
T60 - Soft gymnastic mattress (home training, children's training)
T90 - Gymnastic mattress of medium firmness (universal mattress)
T120 - Gymnastic hard mattress (combat sports)
Gymnastic mattress size
Standard gymnastic mattress size is 200 x 120 cm. It is a sufficient size for most sports and rehabilitation exercises. If you need a larger training area, it is recommended to combine several mattresses with each other. This can be done by buying the sewing of Velcro on the sides of the mattress, so that the connected mattresses will not move relative to each other during training. Such turnips are made to individual order, if you need such a solution then please contact the store staff.
The thickness of the gymnastics mattress
Typical thickness of a gymnastics mattress is 5 or 10 cm. A thickness of 10 cm is recommended for soft mattresses, while 5 cm is sufficient for medium and firm mattresses.
