Boxing Bar - how to make the most of it in training? | Fighter's Backstory Series
Boxing bar is an instrument for training punches, accuracy, dodging and reflexes. Find out the different types of this instrument and how you can use the Boxing Bar in fighter training.
Boxing Bar - wall-mounted and free-standing
Boxing Bar comes in two types. One of them is mounted on the wall, while the other is a free-standing device, resting on a solid weight base, which provides the whole structure with adequate stability. Check out our offer Boxing Bar.
Freestanding Boxing Bar
The free-standing version is equipped with a rod, shield and a rubber cast, simulating the head of the opponent. The weight of the weight base is large enough to ensure that, when filled with water, sand or other loose filler, it keeps the instrument in an upright position when training strokes. At home, it will be most convenient to fill the base with water - we assure you that water is completely sufficient, because the base has additional suction cups that make it even more stable and maintains stability even under strong impacts.
Boxing Bar for the wall
Boxing Bar for the wall is a device with a simpler design. It is simply a rotating training bar, equipped with a solid wall mounting bracket. The player, striking the stick, causes it to rotate 360 degrees, and thus forces himself to perform dodges and strikes on the moving target.
Free standing Boxing Bar - how to exercise?
The most important part of this device is movable training bar, which works very smoothly, guaranteeing high training efficiency. By hitting the training bar or the target at one end of it, you cause it to start rotating around the axis of the instrument, forcing the trainee to performing quick evasions and becoming a moving, hard-to-hit target. You can alternate dodging and hitting the stick and shield with blows to the rubber head cast, stimulating the opponent.
Rubber head casting
The second important element of the instrument is precisely the rubber cast of the head, which imitates a sparring partner during training. Its interior is filled with higher-density foam, which is resistant to deformation and crumbling. These properties make the casting durable and impact resistant. The shape, which reflects the real head of the opponent, makes training more realistic.
The rubber head casting on the Boxing Bar jig is placed on a flexible spring, so that even the strongest blows are very well cushioned. This improves the durability of the entire instrument, and also guarantees the stability of the rotating rod's operation even when it hits the casting.
Boxing Bar - how to adjust the height of the training bar?
Using the knob, you can adjust the height of the training bar and adapt it to the height of the athlete. The minimum height range is suitable for children who are just beginning their adventure with combat sports, while the maximum height of the bar is about 185-190 cm, so even very tall fighters can effectively and comfortably train on it. Choosing the right height is very easy, and the the determinant here is a rubber cast of a human head, which should be at the height of the athlete's head and imitate a sparring partner.
